Aer Lingus Plane

Industrial action by airline pilots has been called off after talks overnight at the Labour Relations Commission in Dublin.

Thousands of customers had already altered their travel plans to avoid the walk-outs.

The airline said in a statement: “Following extensive engagement between Aer Lingus and pilot trade union IALPA-IMPACT over the weekend, Aer Lingus has can confirm that the immediate threat of industrial action, due to commence Tuesday June 7, has been removed.

Details of the settlement have not yet been released.

Flight crew had warned they would begin work an hour late from tomorrow (Tuesday), which would have thrown the carrier’s schedule into chaos.
