Hong Kong Welcomes First Dragon Boat Festival
Over 100 teams from around the world are set to arrive in Hong Kong to take part in the first dragon boat carnival held this year in Manila. The event is part of the Hong Kong Tourism Board’s annual ‘Summer Spectacular’ which runs from the 23rd to the 25th of July. Along with the actual races, the carnival will also feature live performances and plenty of local food stalls offering the best national dishes and delicacies.
The ‘Summer Spectacular’ is supported by many major businesses in and around Hong King including 10 large shopping centres that are offering free gifts and discounts. Restaurants around the city are also giving visitors the chance to take home souvenirs and drinks offers during the festivities.
Accommodation around the city is also being offered at special festival rates with hotels and apartments accredited under the governments Quality Tourism Services Scheme running fantastic holiday promotions.
Hong Kong’s summer schedule is set to prove incredibly popular with visitors to the area with plenty of things to see and do over the next few months. Over the course of the festival Hong Kong will welcome thousands of visitors to the city to enjoy the packed schedule for the ‘Summer Schedule’, with events including;
The International Arts Carnival (July 9th –August 15th)
The Hong Kong Book Fair (July 21st-July 27th)
The Ocean Park Summer Splash (1st July-31st August)
Hong Kong Food Expo (August 12th –August 16th)
Hong Kong Computer and Communications Festival (August 20th-August 23rd)
