Jet2 Plans Package Extension

Budget Airline Plans to Put Faith Back in Tourism
Popular budget airline Jet2 is planning a significant expansion of their existing package range. Backed by a large TV marketing campaign, the airline is set to promote the fact that their holidays are Atol-protected, a comforting statement during a time of heightened mistrust in the travel industry. With several airlines already declaring their closure and leaving customers stranded either home or abroad, the five week campaign will lead with the slogan ‘Package Holidays you can Trust’. Jet2 has become one of the biggest holiday companies in the UK, however despite trade demands the carrier has decided against adding capacity to the Eastern Mediterranean. Overall the capacity will remain the same this year but a larger proportion of their seats will be sold as part of much needed protected packages. Jet2 is likely to double the amount of packages that is has available, expanding its brochure from 72 pages to 240 pages in 2011.
A spokesman for the airline has stated that “We expect something of a renaissance in tour operating. Consumers and agents are looking for safer options.” The travel industry is expecting to see a significant rise in tourism in 2011. After the demise of companies such as Goldtrail and KISS the focus on a safe package option is a great way to encourage more people to start putting their faith back in the tourism industry. Passengers are being warned to ensure that their holiday company is Atol protected to allow them piece of mind during their break, with pictures of packed airports still fresh in the minds of potential tourists it is definitely worth double checking your travel plans.
