Whilst on Holiday with my family in Tignes, France during the half term holidays last week it was somewhat of a shock to find out that British ski guiding provided by various UK tour operators has been banned by a ruling in a French Court in Albertville.
The court ruled that it breaks French law by allowing non-qualified instructors to lead organised groups.
This has left many holiday makers highly disappointed and without a safe guide around their ski resort.
The result of this may see a decline in British visitors to the Alps unless a solution can be found.
Our chalet rep told me he was hit with a ski stick by one of the older French Instructors whilst guiding his clients around Tignes.
He thought the French were protecting their income when in fact we send many of our clients to their ski schools?
