The Big Freeze Continues

Airport Warnings!

Various airports have been closed over the past week or so, but this morning most have re-opened. The railways across the country have also suffered delays and many lines have been running below their full capacity. With cancelations and delays a certainty for the future when it comes to flights, it pays to keep yourself up-to-date with the latest news and information coming from various airports throughout the UK.

The London City, Heathrow and Luton Airports are all open this morning, though travellers are warned that delays are likely on various flights going forward. Gatwick Airport is still closed this morning, but it expected to be open by 11 am.

Other major airports in England such as Leeds Bradford and Newcastle are advising passengers to set off early when making their way. Passengers are also being told to check online to make sure that their flights are on time and not cancelled before setting off.

Up in Scotland both Glasgow and Edinburgh Airport have only recently reopened after a cautious approach to the heavy winter snowfall.

The weather in the UK isn’t set to improve much for the rest of the winter season, so it might be a good idea to revise any plans you have to leave the country via flight. The Met Office has been putting out severe weather warnings across the country to deter people risking travel if it isn’t absolutely necessary and it seems airlines are following suit. Many local airports aren’t running at their optimum levels because of the dangers.
