Tourism? There’s an ‘App’ for that!

Tourism Australia Launches the OzPlanner
In a brand new marketing campaign, Tourism Australia has created an exciting new iPhone app to help visitors plan their trip to the country. The application allows users to gain direct access to information needed to fully explore their Australian destination. This includes access to listings of tour providers, accommodation and transport hire. The app comes complete with 16 pre programmed journeys across the country which they can either navigate along or simply click to see the highlights, images and activities available along the route. Those looking to head off the beaten track can also search a range of other destinations and experiences to enjoy during their trip.
Managing director of Tourism Australia, Andrew McEvoy explains that the app is designed to offer a portable, engaging experience for those wishing to travel around Australia. McEvoy states “Mobile platforms are a great opportunity for Tourism Australia to extend its presence beyond traditional advertising and marketing to showcase the country’s diverse tourism experiences,”
The application is known as the ‘OzPlanner’ and many are predicting that this new way of promoting tourism will prove to be extremely effective in the digital age. The app is already proving useful to those either planning trips to Australia or already within the country trying to navigate their way around. Holiday plans can be saved as you browse the application and users will be able to access more than 20,000 tourism products whilst they browse. For anyone planning their first trip to Australia, this new tool will prove to be invaluable.
