The Taiwan tourism bureau has embarked on a brand new strategy to encourage tourism to the country. The bureau has begun inviting pop icons to feature in music videos that promote Taiwan tourism, this new campaign will mark the first time that music videos and official theme songs are used for Taiwan tourism promotion.
One of the videos will feature popular boy band, Fahrenheit, the four member band will perform the main theme song of the campaign ‘Taiwan Touch Your Heart’. The three minute video will combine images of the band alongside leading Japanese entertainers, movie stars embarking on high speed island tours.
Alongside the famous faces, the videos will showcase a range of Taiwanese culinary delicacies, the treasures of the National Palace Museum and the latest Taipei 101 tower fireworks spectacle.
The videos will be broadcast around the world including large screens in New York subway stations. The bureau will also ensure global viewing by uploading the short films to YouTube.
The Taiwan Tourism bureau also intends to invite renowned movie director Wu Nien-chen and pop star Jolin Tsia to star in the next promotional video, this time promoting Southeast Asian countries.
Despite the global economic downturn in 2009, Taiwan still attracted a large number of tourist arrivals signalling the start of the campaign to increase this number even more during 2010.
With the introduction of such famous faces and catchy theme songs, this latest promotion will surely attract the eyes of many people looking for their next getaway.
