            Halkidiki - located in the north of Greece

            Halkidiki has something for everyone. There are more lively resorts for people who enjoy a slightly lively nightlife as well as quieter resorts for those looking to spend their time relaxing. Halkidiki is a very authentic Greek resort with a lot of traditional Greek events. Transfer times vary depending on which resort you stay in Halkidiki you are staying in. beaches in Halkidiki are brilliant, with over 300 miles of coastline on offer. All of the beaches are covered in golden sand, leading down to the turquoise waters edge, making it an attractive, relaxing setting. Many of the beaches are also backed by cliffs and mountains. Unspoilt and uncrowded beaches are easy to find, especially in the quieter of the resorts. Accommodation in Halkidiki is good with a number of self-catering apartments, villas and hotels on offer. The hotels offer half-board and all-inclusive and all accommodation ranges from 2-4-star with a few 5-star options available as well.

            Halkidiki - plenty of beach and water based activities to enjoy

            The beaches in Halkidiki are very popular and therefore, so are the water sports. Water sports available to you include windsurfing, surfing, snorkelling, scuba diving, jet-skiing, water-skiing, paragliding or hiring a pedallo. All water sports are very popular, especially with water temperatures reaching up to 25°C in the summer. Other activities include visiting the various resorts and there sights such as Mount Athos, the Petralona Cave, the Anthropological Museum of Petralona, the archaeological site of Olynthos or Thessaloniki. There are also a number of jeep safaris for you to enjoy in the resort. There are many sporting facilities for sports such as tennis, squash, volleyball, mini-golf and mountain biking. Horse-riding is another popular activity and is available to people of all ages with walks along the beach.

            Halkidiki - a number of restaurants for you to enjoy

            Halkidiki is a very traditional resort and most of the restaurants offer traditional Greek cuisines as well as a lot of seafood. In some places you may find some more international cuisines, particularly in hotels. Although Halkidiki is overall not a noisy resort, there are still some resorts with a fairly lively nightlife. Many people enjoy romantic walks along the water front followed by quiet drinks in a bar or tavern. Many of the hotels have evening entertainment shows available for you to enjoy which generally include singing and dancing. There are a few resorts with discos and louder music for you to enjoy if you are looking for something more lively. Resort such as Kalithea also have clubs for you to enjoy. When it comes to shopping, there is something for everyone with jewellery, souvenirs, crafts, shoes, bags, clothing, supermarkets and mini markets. Public transport is good with buses and taxis taking you all over Halkidiki.

            Halkidiki - a typically Mediterranean climate

            Halkidiki has brilliant weather with over 300 days of sunshine per year. Summers in Halkidiki are long and hot with winters being cool and wet. The average annual temperature is around 17.5°C however temperatures have been known to rise to 27°C and above. In April, the average temperature is around 15°C but rises to 20°C in May. April and May have around 8 hours of sunshine a day, with this rising to 12 in July and August. October and September still see temperatures of around 17-23°C and 6-8-hours of sunshine a day. November to February, temperatures drop and you will see more rainfall. As Halkidiki is located in the north of Greece, you will find that it is cooler than those in the south with temperatures dropping between 0 and 5°C.
