Cala Gracio – A Peaceful, Pleasant Resort
Cala Gracio resides in a much quieter part of Ibiza where it is very quiet and family orientated. Sitting north of San Antonio Bay this resort hasn’t a great deal to offer but that’s mainly so it doesn’t attract a great deal of people from the busier parts of the island, but its close enough so that people can travel to the San Antonio area during the day and enjoy what it has to offer.
Cala Gracio has a few restaurants but the main leisure activity would be just to sunbathe and swim and relax overall. The resort has some great beaches with bars and they never get overcrowded. With the party areas of the island this place stays very tranquil and out of reach of the most adventurous of party people.
There is a lot of plant life as well as a lot of rocky landscapes around the resort which help to make it all the more peaceful and tranquil.
Cala Gracio offers a small number of hotels as well as some villas available with various board basis offers. This area offers great peace and quiet so you and the family can enjoy a relaxing time away.
Cala Gracio – Sights and Activities
Other than sunbathe, take a dip in the pool or paddle in the sea Cala Gracio offers very little in entertainment but with a little travel here and there the island opens itself up. The Aquarium Cap Blanc, hosts many tropical fish native to the Mediterranean waters that surround Ibiza. There’s also great educational value to the aquarium as children will ask about the marine life as they will become fascinated with the various coloured life forms they will see.
Cala Gracio is situated close to two golf courses, the Ibiza Golf Club (18 Holes) and the Roca Llisa Golf Club (9 Holes) with a driving range.
With a little more travel you and the family can choose between two water parks Agualandia Water Park in Talamanca and the larger Aguamar Water Park located in Playa den Bossa.
Visiting San Antonio will unveil a number of activities to have a try of from para-scending to bungee jumping, go karting, and horse riding. In the north you can find the small beach of Gracionetta. To find it take the small path right of Cala Gracio beach and around the headland. Sun beds and pedalos are available in busy months.
Cala Gracio – Food and Nightlife
The best option for a special meal would be to head into San Antonio where there are many restaurants covering close to all loved international themed menus Italian, Chinese, German, native Spanish, etc. The fast food option is also available.
Looking over the Gracionetta beach is a restaurant shaded by umbrellas and pine tree’s which serves fish and pasta dishes.
As for nightlife it is almost needless to mention Ibiza's world famous strip where you will be able to find the bar playing your favourite type of music and serving your favourite type of drink. Of course there are a host of super clubs scattered around the island which if you didn’t know I’m sure a club rep will find you should you visit San Antonio at night.
Family groups looking for something a little more ‘low key’ should stay clear of San Antonio in the evening. Best advice would be to stay in the local bars of Cala Gracio or even the hotel if it has some good night entertainment on show.
Cala Gracio - Weather Info
The weather in Cala Gracio doesn’t really differ to the rest of Ibiza with the summers hot and the winter time much cooler. A fantastic 12 hours of sunshine during the day in summer and the coastal waters have warm temperatures. The resort become, not surprisingly, even quieter as it becomes a lot colder. Cala Gracio is a very quiet place so in the summer heat you’ll not be short of a good place to lay and take advantage of the great heat it has to offer.
There’s a small amount of rain over the winter months but this is the case in all resorts across the island.
