There are several small Tapas bars and some excellent fish restaurants all owned by friendly locals who provide excellent, high quality service. The main street is also a fantastic attraction with flowers and traditional architecture lining the cobbled streets. For a wider variety of restaurants and bars, buses are available to take visitors to different resorts across the island. San Juan is close to the famous San Antonio resort, where the nightlife, shopping and restaurants are a lot livelier.

San Juan is seen as one of the last traditional villages in Ibiza with local history seeping through the cobbled streets. This rural area is probably the Ibiza destination that is the least affected by modern tourism. Visitors come to San Juan to experience the Ibiza of the past when the island was a Spanish backwater. The village is overseen by the majestic 18th century whitewashed church which is a fantastic attraction for sightseeing.

The Cala Can Vicente beach is also worth a visit due to the stunning sandy beached and clear waters. The cave of Es Culleram, a shrine to the Goddess Tanit is also a popular tourist point as it is over 2400 year old. The resort is also popular with visitors looking for spiritual, philosophical and health enlightenment who enjoy the laid back atmosphere of the resort.

San Juan - Weather and Climate

San Juan is similar to many other Ibiza holiday resorts and has sunshine for an average 12 hours a day during the summer months. Although the winter period has less hours of sun, the temperature is still warm and ideal for a winter Ibiza holiday. The stunning sunrises and sunsets are an advantage of heading to the resort during the summer, the winter evenings can get quite chilly so it is recommended that visitors bring warm clothing.
