Cala San Vicente – Great, Relaxing Family Resort
Sat at the North coast of Majorca this peaceful, relaxing resort welcomes both families and couples looking to enjoy a pleasant holiday.
With great surroundings from picturesque beaches with their white sands and crystal clear waters to a beautiful landscape, Cala San Vicente has a lot to take in and you may never get bored of looking out from your hotel room across the resort.
Hotels and apartments in the area vary from 1 to 5 in the 5 star rating system but all accommodations offer good facilities, though some are of course better than others. The resort is one of the smallest on the island and is on the opposite coast from the islands capital Palma, I tell you this because the transfer time from Son Sant Joan International Airport is around an hour and a half to two hours. You will however get the chance to witness the islands great scenery first hand this way. There are also daily buses taking you into Palma as well as other resorts on the island.
Cala San Vicente – Fun and Activities
The resort doesn’t offer a great deal of activities for people, but this is due to the relaxed nature of the place where people who visit prefer to take it upon themselves to lay on the beach, take a dip in the sea or go on walks around the gorgeous scenery. The hills are covered in woodland and people often take walks through them and hike the hills as the area can be both rugged and dramatic viewing.
One thing well worth a visit is the famously known Inca Market which is open on Thursdays in Cala San Vicente. There are trips to other resorts on the island available and while there are some good souvenirs available in Cala San Vicente the likes of Palma offer shops selling jewellery, clothes and electronics.
Cala San Vicente – Food and Nightlife
There perhaps is not the greatest range of cuisine available around Cala San Vicente but there are certainly enough restaurants to choose from. There are some very good local places to eat from offering fresh fish and other ingredients native to the island. For the wine lovers you will be able to sample some fine local produce.
The nightlife in Cala San Vicente is quiet which is in keeping with the ethos of the resort and the best late night entertainment you’ll find will most probably be hotel based. The best chance of extending your night will require travel to nearby resorts like Alcudia which has a good amount of bars and clubs that stay open well into the morning.
Cala San Vicente - Weather Info
With really good weather all year round Cala San Vicente is a very good resort to plan your stay. The temperatures vary from mid to high twenties. This hot weather makes the coastal waters fantastic for having a splash around in. The peak months for weather when you’re deciding when to make your summer trip are between July and August.
The winter period still has very good temperatures staying mild, though you’d want to pack a jacket just as insurance. Though beware October sees the most rainfall in Cala San Vicente.
