Cala Santandria - Western Side of Menorca
With fabulous white sands and crystal clear waters this resort offers a great chance to have a quiet relaxing holiday, and Cala Santandria generally attracts that sort of tourist. This resort has steadily grown over the last decade when the area was only a few small houses and a rocky cove.

The transfer from Menorca airport will be between 40-50 minutes, but during this travel you will get the chance to see some of the scenery around the island as well as a chance to familiarise yourself to your new surroundings. One bonus to the location of the resort is that its only a few minutes south of the island’s capital Ciutadella, and the area offers a good and frequent bus service if you’re planning on doing a bit of travelling to other areas.
Cala Santandria – Fun and Activities
The calm and relaxed atmosphere of the resort can be enjoyed down at the beach where most who visit Cala Santandria choose to do their sunbathing. There are other ways to spend your time however, those options include waterskiing, jet skiing, snorkelling, windsurfing, surfing, scuba diving and parasailing. There are boat trips you can go on which will take you around the coast and visit different beaches on the island.
More land based activities include the likes of good old mini golf or for the more experienced golfer can head to the islands golf club Son Parc. Pleasant peaceful walks are worth going on to check out the nice scenery in the area. Trips to the many prehistoric monuments across the island can also be taken advantage of.
With the location just north of Cala Blanca you will be able to have a decent shopping spree where you will find some good clothes and souvenir shops, however Cala Santandria has many shops itself that you may find more suitable.
Cala Santandria – Food and Nightlife
Cala Santandria has some good restaurants with decent variety but it is worth heading to Cala Blanca for a meal as there they offer a great variety of international cuisine such as Italian, Spanish and many high quality seafood menus. The fast food option is also available in Cala Blanca.
Cala Santandria isn’t a resort that parties till dawn but does offer a good nightlife for people to enjoy. With a few bars and pubs, as well as one nightclub, there is a good nightlife available in Cala Santandria with many venues playing music and having karaoke nights. Most of the hotels in the area provide good entertainment. All different depended on where you’re staying of course.

With 11 hours of sunshine and clear blue skies during summer Cala Santandria has some of the best weather you’ll find. Temperatures can reach up to 35°C at times during the peak period which falls between July and September, but there are welcome cool breezes that brush in off the Mediterranean Sea. These are reasons why Cala Santandria has become a very popular summer retreat.
Winter see’s around 5 hours of sunshine with lower temperatures and although there is also a little rain, it is only light. The resort still remains mild through this period and temperatures will start to rise again as early as March.
