Playa de Los Cancajos is a beautiful area that sits at the foot of hills that descend from the Caldera de Taburiente which is a crater shaped mountain that can be seen all across the island of Las Palmas. Playa de Los Cancajos is a quiet and relaxing resort that is enjoyed by families, though the main type of tourist who stay in the area is couples.

The Taburiente National Park allows you to hike all around the Caldera de Taburiente which is about 5 miles in diameter, and was once an active set of volcanoes.
There is plenty to do in and around the resort with things such as tennis, paragliding, scuba diving windsurfing, snorkelling and fishing. There are plenty of glass bottom boat rides where you can see all the varieties of colourful tropical fish that live in the Atlantic Ocean, not to mention the odd majestic turtle.
You will find plenty of shops around Playa de Los Cancajos selling items such as clothes, jewellery, electrical equipment as well as the many souvenir shops where you can pick up a memento of your holiday.

Playa de Los Cancajos is closely located to the shore and as a result has a keen fishing culture which is reflected in the many fine fish restaurants available around the resort. There are plenty of international cuisines to try throughout the resort to enjoy in the evening, such as Canarian, Chinese, Indian, Italian, American and English.
Playa de Los Cancajos is considered to have the best nightlife in La Palma, with plenty of bars to choose from and even two clubs. There is plenty of live music on offer and some karaoke, the nightlife is fitting for couples who want a late night if not a wild one.

Playa de Los Cancajos enjoys good weather during summer with the temperatures reaching 25°C, with July and August being the peak months. This time of year sees very little rain and also the waters on the shores can be very warm which are ideal for swimming in. The waters in fact stay high all year round, so you can expect to find people enjoying a swim as late as November.
The winter period experiences a little more rain than summer and it also has half the temperature. You can expect October to be the month where most rain will fall.
