Just north of Zagreb you will find the historic Trakoscan castles within the Veliki Tabor area. In Dubrovnik there are magnificent 13th century walls which is a great place to visit, it has become very popular since being listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Another fantastically historical town is Trogir which has a grand Romanesque cathedral and various gothic stone buildings which are also on the UNESCO World Heritage Site list.

The natural side of Croatia is equally as impressive with lush green fields and hills that fill the nation’s landscapes. Many tourists on Croatia holidays enjoy exploring the countryside on foot or by bike. Head to Brijuni National Park the archipelago of 14 islands which has been kept unspoilt from modernisation.

The shopping on offer during Croatia holidays really is fantastic and in many of the cities you will find quality designer clothes, jewellery and cosmetics. In the various holiday resorts, particularly on the coast, there are plenty of souvenirs on offer as mementoes of great holidays.

There are plenty of great restaurants to choose from on an evening no matter where in Croatia you stay. The typical Croatian cuisine has a heavy Italian influence and feel, which is great for the general population of holidaymakers as it is such a universal cuisine. Seafood is also very popular and you will find some tasty and fresh dishes along the coast.

There is some great nightlife to enjoy whilst in Croatia, if you like late nights in clubs and drinking cocktails all night in lively bars then you are certainly in luck. While there are places which are much quieter and relaxed the general nightlife in Croatia is definitely worth experiencing. Zagreb in particular is a city which always offers a vibrant night out, especially during summer.

Croatia – Weather & Climate

Croatia has good weather all year long but unsurprisingly the best of it occurs during the summer period. During summer you can expect your Croatia holidays to experience high temperatures of around 30°C during the hottest months of July and August. Also during these months you will be able to work on your summer tan with the 10 hours of sunshine on offer each day.

Over winter you can expect the temperatures to drop, but only as low as 9°C which makes Croatia a great place to visit anytime. The coldest months are January and February where you will also experience the most rainfall during the year. The weather in Croatia is warmest out on the coast opposed to places further inland such as Zagreb.
