The beach is a great way to lay back and relax on a warm day in El Gouna but there are plenty of activities on offer to explore the exotic contents of the Red Sea. Around the resort there are plenty of facilities and services offering fantastic scuba diving around the coral’s and to see the various marine life. Other water sports available include jet skiing, water skiing and windsurfing. Many of the El Gouna hotels provide activities for guest also, for kids and adults.
Dry activities in El Gouna consist of horse riding and go karting, both of which are very popular amongst tourists. Quad bike safaris out into the desert are another very popular activity that is readily available for all to enjoy.
As El Gouna holidays are better tailored to more modern activities for tourists, which is why there are tour operators which will take you over to the ancient cities of Cairo and Luxor. Both of these cities are packed with historically significant sights that attract millions of tourists each year.
You will find a few shops and supermarkets around El Gouna were you can pick up various items, but if you are looking for a more extensive shopping experience you are better off heading down to Hurghada which is a couple of miles south.

The weather in Egypt is typically good and in El Gouna specifically you will find it quite exceptional. During summer you shouldn’t be surprised to experience high temperature like 43°C during the warmest months of June, July and August.
Winters are colder, but not by UK standards. December is the year’s coldest month and it will enjoy and average temperature is 20°C. There is some rain in El Gouna though it rarely lasts very long and generally clears up quickly.
