Sissi beach is where you will find most of the tourists who come to the resort during the day, whilst there you can lay back on a sun lounger or towel and soak up the endless hour’s sun on offer. Relax on the golden sands or cool down in the waters of the Mediterranean Sea. If you feel like you have done enough relaxing then try one of the various water sports on offer for tourists around Sissi beach such as scuba diving, windsurfing and snorkelling. You will also be able to enjoy boat trips to other islands leaving from the harbour near Sissi beach.
Excursions inland are popular with the tourists who come to Sissi as you will be able to enjoy a trip to the various cultural and historical sites like the ancient Minoan palaces in Knossos and Malia. A trip to the city of Heraklion will provide further monuments and a museum which is the perfect place to learn more about Crete.
Shopping in Sissi only provides supermarkets for essentials and the odd mini market where you can pick up a souvenir. The best places for some shopping where you will have a few good options would be Malia or Heraklion should you take up one of the day trips to either.

When it comes to food there is plenty to choose from in Sissi and in most of the restaurants you will be able to choose some fine traditional Greek cuisine as well as plenty of great seafood dishes. Catering for all tastes most menus will feature popular international favorites containing British and Italian dishes. If you are self catering in apartments Sissi has some super markets where you can pick up well known ingredients to cook a meal.
Despite being known as a family resort where the main theme is relaxation there are plenty of bars, pubs and clubs on offer. Throughout the fine establishments you will be able to listen to live music and enjoy tasty cocktails long into the early morning hours.

Summer is the best time to visit Sissi as the best weather is enjoyed during this time. Over summer the temperature will soar high and during the peak month of August you can expect things to get as hot as 27°C and higher at times. You will able to enjoy the great summer temperatures alongside 13 hours of sunshine a day which is best enjoyed down at Sissi beach.
Over the colder months, winter in particular, you can expect the temperatures to drop but still stay warm. Temperatures will rarely drop any lower than 12°C with a minimum of 4 hours of sunshine a day too. The wettest period in Sissi falls between January and February but as things start to get clearer the weather will once again become warmer.
