The mountains throughout Halkidiki offer plenty of points of interest including Mount Athos which has various monasteries which are still used today. The Caves of Petralona are another popular area worth visiting on an excursion during your stay in Hanioti. You can jump aboard one of the boat trips which take tourists to other resorts along the coast and over to neighbouring islands in the Aegean Sea for a day.

Hanioti - Weather & Climate

The resort of Hanioti is blessed with natural beauty as well as enjoying many days of relentless sunshine and terrific weather. Summer, as you may have guessed, is the best time to visit Hanioti for the best of the weather. The hottest summer months are July and August where the temperatures often exceed highs of 30°C. You can also enjoy 12 hours of sun a day during summer which allows holidaymakers to work on a great tan down at Hanioti beach.

Winter manages to stay warm for the most of time though temperatures will be nowhere near the highs of summer. Coming into November temperature will begin to fall leading into the wet season which will carry on through till February. Temperatures during the day mainly remain above 10°C, though nights experience colder weather. Most days you can still enjoy around 5 hours of sun a day and can offer a fine alternative to the bitter winters back home.
