Olhos d'Agua – South Coast of Portugal
Olhos d’Agua is found along Portugal’s south coast in the Algarve region and is the perfect place for families and couples to come and enjoy a relaxing holiday in terrific weather. Being a resort in the Albufeira area it has one of the regions seven beaches which you can enjoy, all of which are blessed with golden sands and warm waters that wash up on the shores.
You should expect your transfer time from Faro Airport to take around 1 hour which may seem lengthy but on your journey you can enjoy the lush natural beauty that the region is blessed with.
The accommodation in the resort offers fine hotels and apartments. The hotels are rated from 3 to 4 stars and offer half board and all inclusive options, those looking to enjoy a self catering option can choose one of the apartment accommodations available.
Families tend to hire a car to get around the neighbouring resorts including Albufeira. Taxis are also available if you don’t intend on much travel outside of Olhos d’Agua.

One thing you can certainly enjoy on holidays to Olhos d’Agua is the variety of beaches on offer. No matter which one you choose from you will be able to lie back on the golden sands and soak up the glorious sun in beautiful surroundings. If want to enjoy something a little more exciting rather than relaxing you have a fair few water sports to have a go of, including jet skiing, water skiing, snorkelling, scuba diving and windsurfing. Still on the beach you can even join in some beach volleyballs games which are held occasionally.
The whole region of Algarve is famous all across the world for its fantastic, and numerous, golf courses that fill up Portugal’s south coast. In Olhos d’Agua you can expect golf to be very much on the agenda and plenty of courses welcome tourists to come and enjoy a hole or two.
You can enjoy some fun travelling excursions over to the coast of Spain, Albufeira and even up to the capital of Portugal, Lisbon. It is a good idea to do your holiday shopping whilst in Lisbon as the shops there will sell more designer clothes, jewellery and plenty of fine souvenirs, more than Olhos d’Agua.

You will be able choose from various restaurants in the region offering different popular international cuisines. If you are looking for a fine evening meal you can choose from British, Italian, Indian, Chinese and of course Portuguese restaurants. Throughout the Algarve seafood dishes are prominent and you will find many places serving great seafood meals.
On the night you can expect things to be quiet which is of course one of the main reasons families and couples enjoy coming to the resort. That said you will be able to enjoy some great live entertainment in hotels at night. If you are interested in enjoying some nightlife then you can make the short journey to Praia da Oura to try cocktails in the many bars, clubs and discos that are on offer.

The key aspect to why the Algarve is such a popular region for holidaymakers is because of the fantastic weather it enjoys all year round. In Olhos d’Agua you can expect to enjoy great weather over summer with the hottest months July and August seeing temperatures that go higher than 30°C at times. During summer the skies will remain cloudless so that you can soak up the endless hours of sun each day.
Outside of summer the temperatures of course will not be quite the same yet you will be able to enjoy good weather. Over winter you can expect the temperatures to not drop below 15°C, though the hours of sunshine will be half of what they are over summer, but surely 6 hours is enough sun to enjoy on a winter getaway. The most rain falls in Olhos d’Agua between November and March, but as spring comes by the temperatures will steadily rise again for summer.
