Praia Da Rocha – South Coast of Portugal
Located in the Algarve the appealing resort of Praia da Rocha offers a lively holiday atmosphere, there is little chance of a quiet night over the busy summer period so this might be one of the few Algarve resorts families should be aware of. There is a huge stretch of beach to enjoy blessed with golden sands. There are cliffs that look down on the beach and have a great vantage point to enjoy a spectacular view of the turquoise waters of the Atlantic Ocean.
The transfer from Faro Airport will take at least an hour but it would be stupid to waste this opportunity to enjoy the fantastic natural scenery that is present throughout the Algarve. You may even see a few places you want to visit on the ride to your accommodation.

If you plan on travelling around nearby resorts then you can take advantage of the regular bus service available in Praia da Rocha. There are taxis also which will get you to destinations quicker, but are of course more expensive.
Praia Da Rocha – Fun & Activities
The beach is the perfect place to enjoy the fantastic weather on offer in the Algarve and you will find that the beaches in Praia da Rocha has some of the best beaches on Portugal’s south coast. You can lay back and soak up the sun or choose from the various high octane water sports to liven up your day. The water sports you can choose from include jet skiing, water skiing, scuba diving, snorkelling, surfing and windsurfing.
A calmer alternative is to take walks through the natural landscape, scaling the cliffs that look onto the beaches and appreciating the picturesque views. A trip to the Algarve isn’t complete without a visit to one of the many, many fine golf courses available throughout the region. While enjoying a hole or two you can also take in the beautiful scenery and fantastic weather.
There is a water park to enjoy which has plenty of rides and slides and is popular with all who visit the region. You’ll find a sport and health club in the resort for tourists to burn a few calories in. With cathedrals, museums, castles and the Monchique Mountains all nearby you’ll never be short of an excursion to enjoy.
Trips to the Portuguese capital Lisbon are available where you can enjoy great culture and history in the form of many sights and sounds. Whilst in the capital you can enjoy some great shopping too, though in Praia da Rocha there are shops, they don’t offer as much as Lisbon.

Holidaymakers will have a wide variety to choose from when it comes to enjoying a classy evening meal. The types of cuisine you can try include British, French, Italian, Indian, Chinese and of course Portuguese. There are also many seafood restaurants to be found in the resort, the shellfish come recommended.
When the evening arrives you will find plenty in the shape of late night entertainment like shows and karaoke which will be on offer from various bars. You can choose to visit the casino in Praia da Rocha to enjoy a different kind of evening. If you have visited some of the bars and tried a few cocktails then you may be interested in going to the nightclub which remains open into the morning hours.

The Algarve as a whole is blessed with fantastic weather all year long which is why so many travel to the warm shores of Praia da Rocha. Summer will experience the best weather in the resort with temperatures climbing as high as 30°C during the peak months of July and August. During this period you will also enjoy the 12 hours of sunshine a day to appreciate such high temperatures. As a result there will be little if any rainfall or clouds during your summer holiday to Praia da Rocha.
From November through to March the most rainfall will occur in the resort, but it will never hold out too long. During winter the temperatures won’t be as high as summer but things still shouldn’t go any lower than 15°C. With 6 hours of sunshine you can still enjoy a warm getaway in Praia da Rocha if you’re looking to avoid the cold climate back home during winter.
