Of course the whole Algarve region is famed for its fine selection of golf courses which is why many people holiday along the coast. Tennis is another popular sport and you’ll find plenty of courts to choose from if you fancy a game or two. There is a leisure centre nearby also which is available for tourists to work on their fitness whilst on holiday.
There are various tours taking you to historic sites, along the coast to the south of Spain and one excursion taking you to the Portuguese capital Lisbon. The shopping in Vale do Garrao has little to offer than souvenirs so it is definitely worthwhile picking up a few things while in Lisbon as it has many designer boutiques.

Throughout the resorts along the coast you have a wide range of cuisine to choose from every night. The specialty in the region is seafood and there are various restaurants dedicated to such dishes. You can also find places serving popular international dishes in the various British, Italian, Indian and Chinese restaurants available. There are plenty of places to pick up quick bites during the day also.
The evening entertainment perhaps isn’t best suited for children as it comes in the form of bars. You can enjoy a couple of cocktails in a bar before heading out to a couple of discos that stay open till fairly late.

The best of the Portuguese weather is experienced along its south coast so holidays to Vale do Garrao benefit from 12 hours of sunshine during summer days. The best months to go for the summer weather are July and August where it isn’t uncommon to see temperatures rise as high as 30°C. The clear blue skies are fantastic during the day and result in no rain fall for the duration of your visit.
The winter season remains quite warm with the temperature rarely falling lower than 15°C. The hours of sun per day drop to around 6, but this means you can still enjoy good weather making the resort an ideal destination all year long. The most rain comes during March but after that month the temperatures begin to climb high once again.
