Novo Sancti Petri – South West Coast of Spain
You will find the beautiful resort of Novo Sancti Petri on the rare coast of Spain that looks out onto the Atlantic Ocean rather than the Mediterranean Sea. This great resort is perfect for families and couples who are looking for a holiday where they can enjoy fine summer weather in a relaxing atmosphere.
You will experience a transfer time of around an hour from Jerez Airport, but this isn’t necessarily a bad thing because you can spend this time enjoying the picturesque natural scenery around the south of Spain.
Novo Sancti Petri has a fine beach, La Borrosa, which stretches over 5 miles so there is plenty of room for everyone. The beach itself has golden sands and turquoise waters washing up on it, as well as dunes backing on it.
The accommodation in the area is very good and you will find around 13 hotels, many with sea views, to choose from and they will average around 4 stars all offering typical modern services and facilities.
If you intend to travel around the area and other nearby resorts then you will be happy to learn that there is a frequent and very reliable bus service available, including an open top double-decker. You can also grab a taxi if you are looking for specific destinations in the area, but this will of course cost a little extra than the bus.
Novo Sancti Petri – Fun & Activities
With families being the most frequent of travellers to Novo Sancti Petri the resort has plenty of activities for tourists to enjoy during the day. The main area of the resort is taken up by a fabulous 36-hole golf course which is kept in superb condition, and was even constructed to the designs of Severiano Ballesteros. The golf club offers a very relaxed way to spend part of your day and has a great view of the Ocean whilst you play. You will also find tennis courts to enjoy and even a bit of table tennis.
A few activities that will both entertain you as well as helping you explore the resort are cycling and rambling, something that is very popular with families. For something high octane you can enjoy a few laps around the quad biking and go-karting circuits on offer.
On the beach you can expect to find plenty of great water based activities to enjoy such as surfing, wind surfing, canoeing, sailing, snorkelling, scuba diving and even deep sea fishing. Those who enjoy excursions will appreciate taking advantage of a boat trip out into the Atlantic Ocean where you can enjoy whale watching, or take a coach to visit one of the various vineyards in the region.
Novo Sancti Petri has three shopping centres so there are plenty of opportunities for you to pick souvenirs of your holiday or gifts for family and friends back home. Within the shopping centres you will find plenty of fine clothing and jewellery.
Novo Sancti Petri – Food & Nightlife
There are plenty of good places to eat either during the day or on the evening. You can choose from a wide range of restaurants serving a wide range of popular international cuisines including Italian, American, British and Chinese. Despite all the international dishes available seafood is the area’s most popular food. For families out and about exploring you will be able to pick up light bites from the various cafes located throughout the resort.
When the evening comes around a large portion of the entertainment will be found within grounds of hotel accommodation, coming in the form of live performances. For couples looking to enjoy the night longer and livelier you will be looking to the locals bars on offer which offer live music or a DJ. You can even find a couple of clubs open well in to the morning also. Although a late night is on offer the resort doesn’t get rowdy or noisy.
Novo Sancti Petri – Weather Info
Novo Sancti Petri gifts tourists with fantastic weather all year round which makes this the ideal holiday destination to getaway and relax. The summer season is of course the greatest time to visit and enjoy perfect weather such as 12 hours a day of sunshine and temperatures that will go as high as 30°C. The peak summer months are July and August, though August is known to experience the slightly higher temperatures. If you think things will become a touch too hot then you will appreciate the fact that a cold breeze will blow in from the Atlantic Ocean from time to time.
Over winter things of course won’t be as hot as summer though you can expect temperatures to stay above 10°C. There will still be 7 hours of sunshine during the winter months too, which makes Novo Sancti Petri a great place to enjoy Christmas or even have your New Year’s celebrations. Over this time there will be some rain, though not a lot, but it generally occurs during September and October.
