Port Aventura – North East Spain
The area of Port Aventura spreads over a million square metres of land and is tailor made for families and couples looking to have a fun filled holiday together with plenty to do during the day. With plenty to do in the resort you may not find the need to leave, but Port Aventura has its own section of beach on the Spanish coast as well as being nearby other beach resorts Salou and La Pineda.
You expect a very swift transfer from Reus Airport which shouldn’t take any longer than an hour. It is worth using this time to become more familiarised with your new location and its surroundings.
As for accommodation there is plenty of themed hotels for tourists to choose from, and families will appreciate the ability to take full advantage of the theme park as a result.
You will find a very reliable public transport system available in the region which will take you to nearby resorts to further your options whilst on holiday. Taxis are also available for a reasonable price and will of course run longer than the bus service.
Port Aventura – Fun & Activities
The park should be more than enough to keep you occupied with the five sections; the Mediterranea, China, Mexico, Far West and Polynesia. Each of the sections has plenty of rollercoaster’s and water slides between them that will keep the whole family occupied day in day out. You can even find plenty of things to keep you relaxed with saunas and Jacuzzis to take advantage of whilst the kids wear themselves out in the swimming pools. The park also offers live shows for its residents.
Take train trip up the coast and you will find the city of Barcelona where you can find plenty of other things to do such as sightseeing. Visit the Roman rooms and museums and indulge yourself in a little culture that you wouldn’t find in the Port Aventura.
Shopping is another thing you can get up to and in Port Aventura you will find many souvenir shops that offer many great mementos of your holiday. If you do decide to head into Barcelona then you will find plenty of designer clothes and jewellery shops, which will provide you with a much more extensive shopping experience.
Port Aventura – Food & Nightlife
There are plenty of restaurants to choose from in Port Aventura as they provide for most if not all tastes. You will find both buffet style service and Ã la carte menus. The choices of international cuisines include American, Italian and Mexican restaurants among others. There is also a seafood restaurant providing yet another option for dining.
The only late night entertainment you will find will be the family shows provided in the park. For a late night involving drinking the best advice is to head to the very close by beach resort of Salou which has plenty of bars with music which offer a really good time. You will find a few clubs too that will stay open well into the morning.
Port Aventura - Weather Info
Your stay in Port Aventura will be blessed with typically glorious Mediterranean temperatures which during the peak summer month of July will reach as high as 28°C. Over this period you can expect the sun to shine for at least 10 hours a day and you probably won’t see a drop of rain or cloud either.
When it comes to the winter period things will start to cool down by November with October recording an average of 21°C. September and October will see the most rain from the whole year. Creeping into the New Year temperatures will rise up after falling and around April and May will see the higher readings coming back, and they will keep going higher until summer returns.
