Lagos Holidays from CheapHolidays.com

Lagos is a resort that caters to all ages. People with special interests will enjoy the resort as will beach loving families. There is plenty of history, golf and nature for people to enjoy. The transfer time varies depending where you are staying in Lagos, however it can take anything from 1 hour 45 minutes 2 and a half hours. This gives you more than enough time to look at the surrounding scenery of Portugal, as well as get an idea of the location of the resort and the location of your accommodation within the resort. The main beach is long, wide and curvy and covered in golden sands. Other beaches are slightly narrow and are backed by cliffs. You will find both hotels and apartments in Lagos. The apartments offer a self-catering board basis and the hotels offer half-board and all-inclusive.

Lagos – plenty of water sports to keep you entertained

imageLagos has some brilliant beaches which is why there are plenty of water sports on offer. The most popular is windsurfing as there is a windsurfing centre, closely followed by canoeing, kayaking, scuba diving and snorkelling. You can also try jet-skiing and water-skiing. Exploring is a popular activity among tourists with plenty of monuments in the town to look at, as well as museums, chapels and churches. Golf and bullfighting are also popular things to see as is the Barao de Sao Joao National Park. There are also plenty of excursions for you to try. You can visit Cape St Vincent, the chapel in Lagos, Monchique Mountains, Silves castle or the 12th century cathedral. Other excursions include jeep safaris, a dolphin cruise, a barbecue cruise or even trips to Lisbon for shopping and sightseeing.

Lagos – plenty of restaurants and cuisines for you to choose from

image Lagos is home to dozens of restaurants with both local, traditional cuisine and international cuisine. You will find Chinese, Portuguese, British, French, Indian and Italian cuisines in Lagos. There are plenty of bars in Lagos with live music and karaoke. There is one nightclub in the resort and this offers dinner and dancing. Plenty of discos are open until late so that you can dance the night away. There is even a bowling alley which is great for an evening out as a family. There is a large shopping area offering things such as crafts, souvenirs, clothing and jewellery. Public transport in Lagos is good with regular buses taking you to other resorts such as Portimao and Sagres. Lisbon is easily reached by train. Taxis are also around but are very busy during peak season.

Lagos Weather and Climate

The weather in the Lagos is what attracts to many people each year. The summers in the Lagos are long and dry with winters continuing to stay mild with limited rainfall. July and August are the hottest months in the Lagos with average temperatures reaching 30°C. You will also find up to 12 hours of sunshine a day meaning you have plenty of time to enjoy the day. The coastal breezes tend to keep the temperatures slightly lower to enable you to feel more comfortable in the heat. The spring and autumn is still warm with temperatures at 17-19°C. The coldest winter months are January and December although the temperature is till at around 15°C. There is also still around 6 hours of sunshine a day. From November to March is when most of the rainfall comes however on average there are only around 50 days of rainfall a year.
