Lakithra is a very quiet resort that is ideal for upmarket couples and singles looking for a holiday that is for pure relaxation to get away from the stress's of everywhere else. When staying in the resort, car hire is recommended as this way for you to get around the resort itself and get into other resorts. The average transfer time for this resort is around 45 minutes, giving you plenty of time to look around at surrounding scenery and gain an understanding of the location of the resort and the location of your accommodation within the resort. There is no beach located directly in Lakithra, however there are nearby options such as the Makris Yialos Beach in Lassi. The accommodation in Lakithra consists of 2-4-star self-catering apartments and villas that have all facilities and services that you would expect them to have.

Lakithra - plenty of exploring to be done

Family on holiday Lakithra is a very scenic area that is home to a lot of surrounding countryside. This gives you plenty of space to explore and some amazing views to take in. Another popular area to explore is the garden village of Kourkoumelata that was rebuilt after the devastation of the 1953 earthquake. Buildings and other scenic areas are also popular areas to explore. You will find that all of the restaurants are predominately Greek and offer a variety of traditional and local Greek cuisines. Seafood is a very popular speciality. Most of the nightlife is around the taverns. Nightlife is very tame and low-key with quiet music and drinks available only in the taverns. Shopping in Lakithra is very limited, with your only real options consisting of a mini market. Argostoli has many more options available and is a very popular resort to visit. There is a daily bus service available that will take you into the resort of Argostoli. Taxis are available but must be ordered from Argostoli, however they still tend to be fairly cheap.

Lakithra Weather and Climate

Lakithra has brilliant weather with over 300 days of sunshine per year. Summers in Lakithra are long and hot with winters being cool and wet. The average annual temperature is around 17.5°C however temperatures have been known to rise to 27°C and above. In April, the average temperature is around 15°C but rises to 20°C in May. April and May have around 8 hours of sunshine a day, with this rising to 12 in July and August. October and September still see temperatures of around 17-23°C and 6-8-hours of sunshine a day. November to February, temperatures drop and you will see more rainfall.
