The transfer time into Mijas is 30 minutes meaning you have plenty of time in the resort itself, but still enough time to look and understand the location of the resort. The nearest beach to Mijas is the 6-mile long beach in Fuengirola. The beaches are long and sandy making them perfect for you to relax on. The hotels in Mijas are mainly 3-5-stars. There are also some budget hotels for you to choose from should you want to spend less.

The village in Mijas is one place that has to be explored. It is full of Spanish architecture as is the church. There is also a museum of miniatures and even Roman ruins. There is a weekly flamenco show which is very popular, as well as many guided walks into the countryside. Tennis is also popular which is why there is a tennis club belonging to an ex-Wimbledon Champion. There are plenty of water sports that you can try when in at the beach. These include scuba diving, windsurfing, surfing, snorkelling, jet-skiing and sailing. Donkey-taxi rides are very popular and are a great way to get around the resort.
Mijas - plenty of restaurants to go and see
Mijas is home to some cheap restaurants and some exclusive ones. The main cuisine on offer is Spanish, however you may find some other cuisines such as Chinese and Italian in some areas. There are many outdoor evening, cultural shows in the summer months as well as flamenco nights. Travel to Fuengirola and you will find the discos. The shops in Mijas are good as you will find everything you need such as souvenirs, craft shops, clothing and jewellery. There is a good and reliable bus service in Mijas that runs between there, Fuengirola and Torremolinos, however there are limited evening services.
Mijas Weather and Climate
Mijas has an average temperature of around 22°C with the average water temperature being 18°C. During the summer months, the water temperature can reach up to 23°C making water sports perfect. If you want to avoid visiting in the hottest months then visit in May or June where temperatures are around 27°C. The highest summer temperature tends to be around 30°C. The coldest month is January, however temperatures still manage to reach 16°C. The sun is always out and when it does rain, it is cleared up very quickly.
