Playa de Fanabe is one of the smaller resorts in the south western party region of Tenerife where many families and couples enjoy staying. Despite being located so close to the likes of Playa de Las Americas you can enjoy a very peaceful and relaxing holiday in this resort.

The area is well designed for the likes of families and couples with plenty of facilities and services there to accommodate them. There are great beaches and surroundings to immerse yourself in so you can just drift away. The warm blue waters are ideal for children to play in and are very safe too.

The transfer from Tenerife South Airport is fairly swift at 45 minutes, and in this time you can begin to enjoy your new surroundings as well as take note of some of the areas close to where you will be staying.

There is plenty of variety when it comes to accommodation in the area, most of which of are great facilities for all types of tourists. You will also find that hotels around the resort range from 2 to 4 stars.

Playa de Fanabe – Fun & Activities

Family on holiday You will find plenty of fun activities all around Playa de Fanabe with something for everyone to enjoy. First and foremost it has to be the beautiful golden sands of Fanabe beach. Here many people spend the majority of their holiday working on their tan in a friendly atmosphere. On the beach you can expect to find many fun water sports to play such as jet-skiing, snorkelling, scuba diving, paragliding and parasailing.

There are some fantastic excursions to go on whilst in Playa de Fanabe, including a boat trip out into the Atlantic Ocean to see whales and dolphins that inhabit the waters. Mount Teide is perhaps the most visited part of Tenerife by tourists. You can take a cable car up most of the way to enjoy some great sights, and with special permission you are even able to climb the remaining distance to the peak. Very close by you will be able to visit Aqualand which is very popular with children.

There are plenty of shops dotted around the resort of Playa de Fanabe which sell things like clothes, jewellery and souvenirs. You could also travel to the bustling resort of Playa de Las Americas where you can find many more shops to fill up your suitcase.

Playa de Fanabe – Food & Nightlife

This wide variety should be enough to please all tourists who choose to stay in this resort, although you can travel to nearby resorts to further you meal options.

There are a couple of bars available though the close location to Playa de Las Americas means that for a great night out, that is where you want to be heading. Many choose Playa de Fanabe because of it is quiet on the night so people can enjoy a good sleep, but close enough to have a great night out to.

Playa De Fanabe Weather and Climate

The southern coast experiences the best weather throughout all of the Canary Islands, and Playa de Fanabe’s position means that it enjoys some of the hottest that Tenerife has to offer. In the peak summer months, July and August, you can expect temperatures to be as high as 30°C. You will experience very little rain on your holiday during summer, if any at all. Winter will be much milder with about 5 hours of sunshine a day, but with 15°C being the average temperature, you can still enjoy very warm weather. There is slightly more rain during winter but it should still clear up fairly quickly.
