You will be able to take advantage of the fine public transport system available in Stalis with buses taking you to various resorts including Heraklion. The mini train in the resort is the best way to get into nearby Malia though taxis are available, but are of course a little more expensive.

Take a trip to archaeological sites like the Minoan Palace and Knossos, head to the Heraklion Archaeological Museum and get in depth knowledge of the islands history. Hire a jeep or a mountain bike and head out to the surrounding countryside to create your own adventure. You can even just take a relaxing walk to nearby areas and enjoy what the landscape has to offer, such as the Samaria Gorge.
Stalis – Food & Nightlife
You should expect to find plenty of places serving fantastic cuisine in Stalis. Choose from various restaurants serving traditional Greek and seafood dishes or enjoy the cuisine of popular European countries like Italy. You will notice that most of the luxury hotels in the region have great food and cuisine to offer their residents also. It is always worth heading out from Stalis apartments and hotels at least once or twice to try some of the great food available in the restaurants in the resort.
You can enjoy a late night, if not a wild night, in Stalis with plenty of bars offering live music and drinks. There are a few late discos for couples who don’t want nights to end too early. You will be able to join in some traditional Greeks festivities at times also.
Stalis Weather and Climate
Summers are long in Stalis and people flock to the island of Crete to enjoy it, the busy season starts in April and doesn’t end till October. The great weather in the resort makes it a good place to visit at any time of the year. The peak summer month for weather is August where the temperatures will go as high as 27°C. With clear blue skies you will be able to thoroughly enjoy the 13 hours of sunshine during summer.
Over the winter period temperatures will drop and the hours of sunshine will be reduced, but the resort still maintains warm and mild weather. The temperature won’t drop below 12°C whilst the 4 hours of sunshine a day will be more than enough for winter travellers to enjoy. Most of the rainfall occurs in winter, starting in December with January and February seeing the most of it.
