“I think I must be the most photographed man on Tenerife!” That was what Chris Kamara said as he took a few pictures with tourists on his holiday on the Canary Island. A former footballer and now current Sky TV reporter and pundit, Chris won the attention of millions with his unique style of enthusiastic reporting.

Middlesbrough born Kamara owns a home in Tenerife, Los Cristianos to be exact, and he makes his way out into the sunshine as often as he can. His next door neighbour happens to be one Ricky Hatton. Chris also owns a stake in an Irish themed music pub the Whole in the Wall, a place where he can be found on his stays. He also doesn’t mind getting up to sing a song or two with the resident singer which can be a real treat. Chris himself is a keen singer having performed at the London jazz club and Cafe Paris.

Chris has become a real ambassador for Tenerife stating that, “I don’t think people realise just how lovely Tenerife is. It has fabulous restaurants hotels and the weather is brilliant all year round.” Living in Wakefield with his wife and children Chris loves the opportunity to head off with the family to their sunny home based in the Atlantic Ocean.

Chris has become one of Tenerife’s biggest fans and certainly doesn’t mind taking a minute or two to take a picture or sign an autograph. He explained “When I was young, I remember going up to a footballer who was too busy to talk to me. I vowed there and then, I would never do the same thing.” Chris Kamara is one of the nicest people you will meet and if you’re in Tenerife don’t be afraid to say hello as he’s more than welcoming.
