As if there isn’t already a plethora of places to take up accommodation in Las Vegas, there’s now another option. On the strip you will notice pretty much every building is a Hotel/Casino/Restaurant/etc. Popular places like Caesars Palace, Four Seasons and MGM Grand are always taking in travellers to sin city, but now another popular place on the strip in Vegas has constructed a new tower in order to attract more custom. That place is Planet Hollywood.

You can never get too far in today’s news before someone mentioning something about Hollywood, whether it’s an A-list star heading to rehab or a company named after the town creating more rooms for accommodation. The tower is due to be fully open early 2010 and until then they will gradually open parts of the tower for people to rent rooms. There is expected to be an extra 1,200 units available due to the added tower, some of which will be vacation homes on offer for timeshare whilst the rest will become regular hotel rooms.

The Westgate Company actually owns the tower whilst Planet Hollywood operates it, and staff announced that 20 people have already checked into rooms in the tower. The Planet Hollywood casino’s hotel is currently in talks with Harrah’s Entertainment to take it over. Planet Hollywood clearly believing it doesn’t need two places for accommodation. Though there is no deal as of yet Harrah’s has actually filed an application with Nevada gambling authorities for the appropriate licenses to run the hotel.
